An artists' studio is an intriguing space, full of ideas waiting to happen, numerous experimentations and inspirations. The studio houses failed pieces, rehashed work, and, most importantly... work in progress.
I have spent many years building up a versatile studio on a farm in Heidelberg, Gauteng. The set up includes a fully equipped print house, ceramic studio, sculpture workshop and an architects table which has become one of my favourite pieces of equipment. With large work surfaces ready for mind mapping and productivity. The studio is surrounded by the Suikerbos nature reserve, which triggers much artist navel-gazing syndrome, yet in the same breath, presents the perfect place to mindfully develop work.
