The subject matter in my work varies in each body of work yet there is an ongoing theme of post-modern spaces and the journey of knowledge as concepts feed into one another by placement. By cross pollinating techniques in traditional Fine Art fields each work in its own nature becomes multi-faceted by combining various elements of media and skill in works.

Abstract Art explores the relationship of forms, colour, balance and media shying away from traditional representations of physical and recognisable objects though I often bring elements of each into one another. In many works inspiration is drawn from areal land formations building up layers of different spaces within the work.
My abstracts are experimental by nature and the media often takes over whilst creating works. Often canvases are cut and wooden panels are carved away utilising the element of light to illuminate and add three dimensional elements.

History is a part of us the day we are born. Post modern discourse on 'History as my story' is a theme which intrigues much of Le Roux's work dealing with her own history as well as that of others. Love letters written by candle light, what is left behind and lost memories become the subject matter seen in new light. Photos found in thrift stores where people exchanged keys to their history and heritage for a mere few rands find their way into new meanings.
Vintage images captured in a time where not much is known of the subject fascinate her work as Le Roux mentions, 'In postmodern works, I am telling a story of untold stories by revisiting these images.'
